What is the significance of this day?
Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th (3/4) around the world. Pi (Greek letter "") is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant -- the ratio of the circumference of a circle to it's diameter -- which is approximately 3.14159. Pi has been calculated to over one trillion digits beyond its decimal point.
How did we calculate Pi?
We divided the circumference with the diameter to get a ratio answer.
How is this related to our number topic?
It's a ratio of circumference to diameter
